EXTENSION SERVICES   Main objective of the Warehousing Corporation is to provide scientific storage for foodgrains to minimize the losses during storage. It has been the endeavor of the Corporation to attract maximum deposits by farmers and other beneficiaries in the Warehouses yet agricultural produce is retained at the farm level as well traders/ millers level in their own storage space, which require proper preservation by providing dis-infestation treatments from time to time. To appraise the farmers about new methods/ techniques used for preservation of foodgrains and avoid losses in such storage, the Corporation has been running Farmers Extension Service Scheme (FESS) and Dis-infestation Extension Service Scheme.

FARMERS EXTENSION SERVICE SCHEME Corporation is also running Farmersí Extension Service Scheme to appraise the farmers about new methods/ techniques used for preservation of foodgrains. Under this scheme, some villages are earmarked by each Warehouse within its periphery of 8 KMs. The technical staff of the Corporation visits these villages from time to time to acquaint the farmers with the procedure of scientific storage of their produce and demonstrate various dis-infestation treatments. The services available with the Corporation are also explained to the farmers. This service is provided free of cost. DIS-INFESTATION EXTENSION SERVICE SCHEME Under Dis-infestation Extension Service Scheme, the Corporation undertakes dis-infestation treatment to the foodgrain stocks stored by the farmers, Co-operatives, traders and millers etc. in their own storage places at a nominal charges as under:
